PRUNING FOR THE WINTER!
Pruning for the winter is essential to the growth of some plants for the coming garden year. We had several trees that needed pruning in the winter. It was a kind of hit or miss for us but, we figured it out by the growth pattern of the trees.
Take the Pomegranate for instance, this tree was a volunteer tree because a pomegranate was eaten and a seed was tossed and BOOM a tree was born! Each year it grows like crazy but has yet to yield us some fruit. Aa a rule of thumb it takes about 2-3 years for the pomegranate tree to produce the fruit we love to eat! They need plenty of direct Sun atleast 6 hours a day and good drainage. Fortunately the seed was tossed in the right place in our garden! After this pruning we are expecting a fabulous yield this year and we will keep you up to date!
